The other day a customer refused to pull the mask over their nose saying it was too hard to breath, the local police had to escort them out of the grocery store.
Saying its too hard to breath falls on deaf ears when we wear masks for 8 hours straight save for lunch.

I flew last night for the first time since the plague hit.
The woman in the middle seat next to me was not wearing a mask. Her significant other o n the aisle had a tube bandana but was sipping on a soda so didn’t wear his most of the time. Man in front of me wasn’t wearing one. Couple next to him both left their nose sticking out when they didn’t just leave it dangling from an ear.
I decided to stop looking at that point since it’s really just too depressing.

neat! Hard to tell what is offshore troll created and what is home grown.
I had a discussion with a younger woman at work this week about her trying to convince her aging parents (boomers I assume) not to wear masks because the lack of oxygen would cause brain damage and she would be heart broken if her parents got brain damage. I thought she was joking at first - she was not.

We won't be out of it for a couple of years, at least. Maybe not ever, it could just be endemic from now on. Eventually, we may get desensitized to people dying from it and the news will stop reporting the running total, but it will still be there happening in the background.

Apparently, adding the word “agency” to the end of any random name makes it somehow sound official. Just ignore the “.com” address. They could have at least tried to get a “.gov.so” address and make it seem halfway legit.

Lol why is ADA so scared? People have lost what little trust they had in “science,” especially with all of the flip flopping from the CDC and the WHO about what causes Corona.
If it complicates breathing, that’s not good. The only place I wear a mask is my rock climbing gym that requires it. The only reason I don’t pitch a fit about the mask requirement is because I like climbing & there isn’t a closer place to do it at. Breathing in that thing is terrible, and I’m young and very healthy. This is even wearing one of the cheap blue and white ones.
When I see people wearing masks in non-required environments , I worry they might be hostile and I’m afraid to talk to them. I’m not a judgmental person, especially in professional roles, but people who are pro-mask seem to be so for it (as I’m seeing here) that I’m afraid they’ll get mad at me for not wearing one. And these are the same people who usually support protests & were out partying, attending sporting events, etc. earlier this year (which I never do).
Since this pandemic started, I feel like I’ve become more & more Boomer. I need one of those cards once the typo is fixed.

I’m sorry that it seemed like I let this out on you. It’s just my take on this whole issue, and it’s better to convey it in a comment section with the potential for little traction than creating a regular post that would gain controversy.
I should note that I take a lot of other steps to not just keep me safe, but to keep others safe. I always try to stay a little far from people (especially those wearing masks) because I know some might not be comfortable with people being closer, even now. I always apply hand sanitizer and make a point of putting it on before giving a stranger a hand shake or a fist pump. Going back to professionalism, if I had someone at work who wanted me to stay socially distant from them (I really don’t like saying that haha), you bet I would.

Masks are an easy way to reduce the likelihood of person-to-person transmission. You might be young and healthy, but not everyone else is. The way I see it, my wearing a mask is less about me worrying about contracting the virus (even though I am diabetic and immuno- compro mised) than it is about spreading the virus to people I love that would probably be hospitalized if they contract it.
Sometimes it’s okay to do things for the greater good of humanity rather than just ourselves.

Ironically, the greater number of people who refuse to wear a mask for five minutes = the more likely they are to be in a lockdown state.

It seems like young people maybe don’t fully grasp what an extraordinary request it is. Maybe older folks have seen plenty of shit come and go and have never been asked to do anything like this, so they’re willing to just suck it up for a year.
Yes, the masks suck. But there’s no arguing they work and save lives . And that should be the focus, not on collectively avoiding momentary discomfort. I’m in the northeast, and when people you know personally start dying, perhaps you’ll come around.
When in doubt, strive to be on the right side of history. That’s my advice to you.

The ADA does prevent people from asking you to disclose your disability in a lot of cases. My state grants all the mask exceptions listed on that card, but you don’t need any card to be granted them.
